When Yamaha unveiled their MT-25 naked bike overseas in the spring, we predicted it would only be a matter of time until they built a version with their larger 321 cc motor. Now, they have confirmed that plan.
Photos of the bike, known as the MT-03, have been floating around the Internet for a while now, but the bike was not officially confirmed. But, you can now see photos of the machine on Yamaha’s Japanese website, so the cat is out of the bag.
Just as the MT-25 is a naked version of the R25 sportbike, the MT-03 will be a naked version of the R3, with the same 320 cc motor. If the bike makes it to North America, it will almost certainly be known as the FZ-03, just as the MT-09 and MT-07 are known as the FZ-09 and FZ-07 here. However, Yamaha Canada hasn’t said anything about the bike coming to our market.
So is Canada getting the MT03 just announced for the USA market as well ?
