Beijing to Ulanbaatar – Part 1

0
Taking a moment to ensure that two plus two is indeed four. It’s 4:00 am and my coma-like sleep is interrupted by the thunderous tone of my alarm clock. I stir, and slowly start my robotic-like movements. It is the 8th morning like this and each day gets a little harder to wake up. I know what I have to do, just crawl out of my sleeping bag and put on my riding clothes, then pack up my tent, get on my bike and head to the starting gate.

150 Scooter Comparo, Part II

In part one we gave each test rider the opportunity to put in their two cents about the scoot that they had picked up and were effectively in charge of. In part two, let’s take a closer look at how the scoots stacked up against each other.

Wrap-up: Yamaha FJR1300AE

There’s not much that isn’t to like about Yamaha’s inline 1300cc motor. It winds up like a sportbike when you want to get fruity, but chugs along all day on the meaty torque if you’re just in happy-to-tour mode.

Badged as a 2003, the VTX1300S just went on sale in Canada, filling the void left by the discontinuation of the VT1100C3 Aero. At a quick glance it looks almost exactly like the big VTX1800S, but the differences between the two are profound.

Test Ride: Honda CBR954RR

0
It must be frustrating for Honda when most of the press are defining the 2002 954 as a made-over and over-bored 929.

Test Ride: Kawasaki EX500 Ninja

0
I remember when the EX500 first came out. The press were excited about this 500cc twin that was "half a Ninja" - the motor being based on just two of the cylinders of the then current four cylinder 1000cc.

Test Ride: Yamaha Road Star 1600

Yamaha has answered the demands of the growing cruiser market with its 3 level "Star" series. The V-Star is the most economical level, with its 650 and 1100 models. Following this is the torquey Road Star, which is available as the Road Star 1600, Road Star MM Limited and Road Star Silverado.
