BMW's F800GS is considered a practical alternative for riders who consider the R1200 GS too beastly and too costly for off-road use. It's surprisingly competent in the dirt (save for soft front wheel rims), and offers all-day comfort on the street. Like the rest of BMW's 800 lineup, this bike gets ride-by-wire throttle, updated exhaust, Rain and Road riding modes and other optional modes, new gauges, and a few other minor tweaks.
