CSBK’s 2024 Season Wraps Up At Shannonville This Weekend!

Annnnd here we are—the final race weekend of the 2024 Canadian Superbike campaign, all happening at Shannonville, where the season started four months ago. This time, they’re running the facility’s Long Track layout.

As we head into the weekend, a few titles are still up for grabs, although Pro Sport Bike is decided (Sebastien Tremblay nailed it down at the Mosport round) and Ben Young would have to face a catastrophic series of bad luck to lose his 50-point lead over Sam Guerin. He only needs four more points to clinch the Pro Superbike title, and that should be easy in the double-header. It would be his third title in a row.

We’ve heard of no exciting wild cards this weekend, unlike the preceding races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, but we do expect Alex Dumas to be on-site, probably not playing a spoiler role, but certainly making the race win a lot harder for Guerin to grab from Young.

Young is also reportedly headed back to the Pro Sport Bike ranks for the final weekend, campaigning his GSX-R750 in a race that won’t decide any title, but will give him some practice time aboard that Gixxer ahead of a presumed shot at the Daytona 200 again next winter.

The biggest potential upsets are all in the amateur categories. The Am Superbike title is already gone, to Goran Radisic—but he still has one goal left to pursue, an all-podium season. He’s finished first or second in every race this year, and now he has one race left to complete that deal.

Other support class titles are still up for grabs, including Amateur Sport Bike (only a 14-point lead for front-runner Serge Boyer), and both the Pro and Amateur categories of the Pro-Am Twins series. The Amateur category of the Kawasaki ZX-4RR championship is also still not decided.

So, you can expect lots of action this weekend, with qualifying and practice sessions on Friday, races on Saturday and Sunday. See the planned schedule here (remember, weather or a red flag can change that quickly). Find details on tickets and other information here.
