Triumph drops teaser for new Street Triple RS

(To be read in the voice of one of those ’90s movie trailers)

“Next year, coming to a dealership near you: the new #1 performance street motorcycle. It’s the Street Triple RS!”

Er, right. Well, that’s about all we we can gather from the above video teaser, but it is indeed interesting news. Triumph says it’s debuting a new hotrod version of its naked bike for next season, and while there are not many details, it seems it will get the same three-cylinder 765 engine as the Daytona Moto2.

With no announcement of other upgrades to the Street Triple platform, it would be sensible to drop an engine into that frame that would more-or-less fit already, and the Moto2-derived 765 should fit there.

There some other obvious changes to the bodywork and headlights; we’ll see the entire package when it’s unveiled on October 7.
