Honda is going to display a few new bikes at the upcoming motorcycles shows in Tokyo and Osaka.
The new bikes they’re showing off include a few we’ve seen already, including the CTX700 lineup, and the CRF250SM (supermoto version of the CRF250L). Details on the quarter-litre supermoto have been scarce so far, so we’re looking forward to more information on that model.
Honda is also showing off a new trio of 400s (CBR400, CB400, 400X), which appear to be sleeved-down versions of their new 500 cc lineup we’re getting in Canada.
There are also a few new smaller bikes, including something called the Grom (“Recreational model with a 125cc engine that conjures up extreme riding,” according to their literature), a Cross Cub (“New style Super Cub with playful spirit and sporty image”) and a CBR125R (“Fully cowled 125cc road sport model” – very interesting! Is Honda updating their pint-sized sport bike?).
The Osaka show runs March 15-17 and the Tokyo show runs March 22-24. We’ll stay on top of this, and if there are any more juicy bits of information about these bikes, we’ll try to share it – even though, thanks to North America’s bigger-is-better mindset, most of these smaller machines won’t make it to Canada.
I would get a new CT as well… But knowing their attitude towards smaller bike in NA, I doubt we will see these…
The Cross Cub concept looks sweet from what I have seen of the pictures…. a CT remake (think their are rumours it includes a dual range gearbox in the concept, but then again the forums with this kind of info are in japanese are the google translation is….. interesting.)
CT styling, modern engine and electrics and a dual range tranny? I’d buy one. But unlikely to hit NA (though you never know, maybe they’ll cash in on some CT nostalgia)
If they bring the new CT to NA, I’ll stop searching for a used one.
