BMW unveils 30-year anniversary K-bike.

Thirty years of K-bikes means BMW has decided to release an anniversary model, based on the K1300.
Thirty years of K-bikes means BMW has decided to release an anniversary model, based on the K1300.

Back in 1983, BMW launched the K 100, the first motorcycle in their long-running line of K-bikes. Now, they’ve announced a 30th anniversary bike to celebrate.

The special edition will come with ESA II suspension, heated grips, a custom paint scheme, and many other frills.

BMW is building a K1300 S special model for 2013, with a special colour package (Alpine White/Sapphire Black Metallic and Racing Red, with tinted windshield).

Electronically adjustable suspension (ESA II), automatic stability control, ABS, HP shift assister and footpegs for rider and passenger, an Akrapovic muffler, heated grips, and an on-board computer are all standard on the “30 Jahre K-Modelle.”

Purchasers can also add items from BMW’s standard accessory lineup, but they can’t change the paint options.

BMW will show this bike off at EICMA; for now, we don’t have any pricing or availability details.
