Could Polaris be planning a big move into the electric bike market?

Last month, Victory and Indian’s parent company made headlines by buying into electric bike builder Brammo. The prediction at the time was to expect Polaris to move towards electric motorcycles and ATVs, but that was expected to take a while.

The schedule could be moving along more quickly than anyone expected, though – now, the word is out that Polaris is buying French electric vehicle manufacturer Goupil Industrie SA.

Now, it’s true that Goupil Industrie SA is much better-known for their battery-powered people-haulers and light utility trucks than it is for high-performance motorcycles. But while they might not be ready to go toe-to-toe with Zero or MotoCzysz, their battery technology may be just what Polaris needs to break into the battery bike field.
