He was sent to jail for eight months, but former AMA board chairman Dal Smilie is already out.
Smilie was sentenced for embezzling $108,000 from the American Motorcyclist Association through phoney expense receipts over a two-year period when he was on the AMA’s board of directors.
He was let out after only six weeks, with the agreement of the prosecutor, but he faces a two-year community control program, and besides that, his licence to practise law in Montana is under review.
Whow talk about tough, 6 whole weeks and a review of his law practise. Imagine if he had really done somethng bad.
Two things -1st they have laws in Montana?
2nd how much does one have to steal for it to not count anymore?
