Costa Mouzouris has been recruited to ride a Harley-Davidson XR1200 at this weekend’s Parts Canada Canadian Superbike Championship at the ICAR circuit in Mirabel, QC. Mouzouris won’t be the only journalist who will ride the number 22 machine throughout the season, as it was prepared specially for the media.

The bikes are identically prepared for the Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup spec class, with Vance & Hines exhaust, suspension and front wheel (a 17-inch replaces the stock 18-inch), and a belly pan is added to conform to CSBK rules. All bikes run spec Pirellis.

The class promises to be competitive with riders like Cody Matechuk, Steve Crevier and Darren James, who competed in the British XR1200 Trophy last year and finished fourth in the series.

Yesterday, Mouzouris got a couple of practice sessions at ICAR during a Turn2 track day aboard the CMG CBR250 long-termer to get familiar with the circuit, which he’s never ridden before. The track is bumpy and tight and will prove quite challenging to negotiate aboard the XR1200.

You can get info on the weekend’s events here, and look for Mouzouris’ write up on his experience on CMG soon.
