Lesotho – Katse Dam

Because of its geography, the mountain top kingdom of Lesotho receives lots of rain, which is used to power the Highlands Water Project. This is the one of the largest water projects on earth, designed to provide all the power to the tiny country of  Lesotho, but also provides water and electricity to be sold to the surrounding country of South Africa. Nearby Johannesburg, South Africa is the only major city not founded on a river or stable water supply, making it a big customer.
