Buyer’s Guide Model Detail

Kawasaki stripped the bodywork off its Ninja 400 and created the Z400. It's much better than the beginner naked bike of the past, with dual channel ABS, slipper clutch, and LED headlight. But, the suspension is old-school telescopic forks up front, and rear shock is only adjustable for preload. Pricing, at least for now, is same as the Ninja 400, but it's possible this machine will be cheaper to insure, and of course, that wide, upright handlebar should make this thing a breeze to handle in traffic.
