As January turns into February, the Canadian mid-winter motorcycle show circuit heads east. Sort of. This week, they move from British Columbia to Alberta, for the Calgary Motorcycle Show.
Note that this is the only motorcycle show that Moto Canada (as the MMIC now calls themselves) is running in Alberta this winter. The Edmonton show has been taken off the schedule (reportedly, turn-out wasn’t great last year).
That’s unfortunate, because with Moncton gone off the circuit years ago and Quebec City a bit more recently, the industry’s show circuit has gotten pretty light. But still, we’re far ahead of the US market, where nobody has stepped in since the cross-country IMS show circuit was canceled during the COVID pandemic.
As before, the Calgary Motorcycle Show will run at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park (20 Roundup Way). This year’s show runs January 31-February 2, with the show open 11 AM-8 PM Friday, 10 AM-7 PM Saturday and 10 AM-5 PM on Sunday.
Most of the show appears to be the same as previous years. Harley-Davidson, Yamaha and Honda are there, along with other smaller OEM displays, including some from local dealers. There are local clubs exhibiting, and the Yamaha Riding Academy returns as well, delivering free training to kids aged 6-12. Gear distributors and retailers are on-hand giving you a chance to try stuff on in person, and a few touring outfits are present, pitching you on trips for 2026 (or maybe 2025, if they’ve got an opening?). For more details, see the show’s site here, but be warned, there aren’t a lot of other details to share.
