The provisional 2024 Canadian Superbike race schedule is out, and there are some switches to the usual schedule—some surprising changes.
Next year’s schedule will look a lot different from this year, starting with the absence of Grand Bend. There are only five race weekends in the year, and Grand Bend isn’t included. Instead, the series opens at Shannonville, like it usually does, in mid-May; they’ll run the Pro Track layout then. But instead of heading to Grand Bend afterwards, the series then heads to Shubenacadie. The Nova Scotia race runs a month-and-a-half earlier than usual, on June 6-8. That’s a big switch from the usual blazing-hot summer visit, which should make some differences in the setups for riders at Atlantic Motorsport Park, as they’ve always been able to count on roasting weather.
From there, the series heads out to Alberta, with July races at RAD Torque Raceway in Edmonton and Rocky Mountain Motorsports in Calgary. And the season winds down with a visit to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in mid-August, instead of a September race like we saw in the 2024 season.
It’s the first-ever CSBK race at Rocky Mountain Motorsports, where CSBK racers had a private test in 2024. Like all other stops on the calendar this year, it’ll be a double-header weekend.
All in all, a much different-looking schedule, and it’s looking more like a true national series again, although races at tracks in British Columbia and Quebec would certainly round out the schedule nicely. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any talk of testing at BC tracks for a while now, and no track owner in La Belle Province seems interested in motorcycle events.
