Well we all knew this was just a matter of time, but now Triumph has given us some more solid details. A few months after launching its motocross bike, including pro race programs to promote the bike in Europe and North America, Triumph now confirms its plans to build an enduro bike and follow the same playbook.
This is not a shocking announcement. Wayyyyy back in 2021 (Triumph does love to drag out its teaser marketing), Triumph announced its new offroad project, and said it would build enduro models as well as motocross bikes—but the MXers were going to come first.
Years later, that meant we got the TF 250 X, which Triumph raced in AMA Supercross and motocross as well as the FIM’s motocross series this summer. It hasn’t exactly dominated the podium, but the project has seen at least some success this season.
It seems that Triumph plans to use a similar R&D model for the new enduro bikes as it did for the MX machine, by grabbing experienced insiders from the enduro scene to put together a race program. The team manager is Paul Edmondson, who might not be a household name for Canadian motorcyclists, but he’s a former world enduro champ from the 1990s; he also has 18—yes, a record-setting 18—gold medals at the ISDE.
Oh yeah, and now he’s doing some stunt work on the side (or at least, he rode as Daniel Craig’s stunt double for the bike scenes in the last Bond movie).
Edmondson has apparently already had a lot of input into the TF250 X offroad development process, and will now head up Hinckley’s factory enduro racing program. And it’s all happening very soon—Triumph’s PR says “In 2025, Triumph Racing will compete in the FIM SuperEnduro and EnduroGP World Championships, as well as the AMA EnduroCross series, together with other select events throughout the racing season.” So, get ready to see what their new dirt bikes can do in the woods as early as next season.
