KTM 300 XC-W Factory Edition: More Racy Than Ever!

If you’ve got a need, a need for hard enduro speed, then KTM wants you to take a look at the new 300 XC-W Factory Edition. It’s built with the discerning rider in mind, built to a standard that brings it very close to the level of a factory-supported race bike (hence the name).

Having said that, most of the components are not directly intended to make the bike go faster, per se. There are no engine upgrades, unless you count the map-selection switch or the radiator fan, or maybe the titanium FMF Powercore 2.1 muffler. Don’t expect massive power gains over the stock bike.

However, you do get: An glossy orange-painted frame, with a set of KTM Factory Racing frame protectors, and a triple clamp and racing-style seat to match. There are beefed-up wheels with tough D.I.D. alloy rims laced to CNC-machined hubs with black spokes and orange aluminum nipples. Very flashy stuff.

There’s a skid plate included as stock, and a semi-floating front brake disc with a disc guard included as stock as well. The rear brake pedal comes with a safety wire to protect it from being ripped off by vegetation or sticks being jammed in there. A problem you might face in hard enduro, but not on the MX track…

The solid rear brake disc comes with a protector as well, to keep your stoppers safe as you bash about through the rough stuff! And to help you maintain control, KTM included WP XPLOR Pro components in the front fork. As per the press release:

The 48 mm XPLOR PRO 7548 fork is exclusively fitted as standard and represents the pinnacle of enduro suspension, adding a new layer of comfort and adjustability. Tailor-made peak performance and compromise-free offroad dynamics come thanks to WP CONE VALVE technology, with the cone-shaped valve requiring no shim stacks to deliver unmatched damping control and direct response on any terrain. Full adjustability of both compression and rebound damping and spring pre-load is made easy with the provided adjustment tools.

Other upgrades include protection for the clutch slave cylinder, a Hinson outer clutch cover, and a Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket. Oh yes, and Dunlop AT82 enduro tires.

KTM has more details on the new bike here, with a $16,399 MSRP in Canada this year.
