After roughly a year of waiting, you can now pre-order a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in Canada—and we’ve got the pricing information for 2024 as well.
Just as we saw in Europe earlier this year, the brown-painted version of the Himalayan will be the most affordable. Here’s what the company’s PR sent to us earlier today:
The Himalayan 450 will be available for presale purchase in Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Poppy Blue, and Hanle Black. The Kaza Brown colorway will retail at USD $5,799 / CAD $7,699. The Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue colorways will retail at USD $5,899 / CAD $7,849. And the Hanle Black colorway will retail at USD $5,999 / CAD $7,999.
Take note of that price tag—it’s in the same ballpark as the Honda CRF300L and CRF300 Rally (which have gone wayyyyy up in price in recent years). It’s actually more than the Suzuki DR650 (which, at $7,199, remains the best-priced bike in Canada, for probably the last decade straight). It’s slightly less than the Kawasaki KLR650, which has a $7,999 MSRP in Canada this year.
Of course, a bike-to-bike comparo with any of these machines isn’t exactly fair. The Royal Enfield has a bigger engine than the Hondas and smaller than the 650 models. It’s Royal Enfield’s new Sherpa 450, their first liquid-cooled engine, a single-cylinder fuel-injected design that makes 40 hp and about 30 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with ABS as standard, and two ride modes—certainly not the case on the antiquated Suzuki 650 counterpart, or even the new KLR.
The pre-order period for the Himalayan has just opened, and will remain open until August 16. If you really think you want one, you should probably talk to a dealer asap, because given the current turmoil in global shipping, you might be waiting a long time for the next boat if your bike isn’t on the current order.

Canadian prices do NOT include the dealers “documentation”, levies, fees, etc. that often total $2,000. This is why I won’t buy a new price.
