What do you do when your company introduces the most modern engine in its long history? Simple: You develop more models that can use this new engine. This is why we see the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 about to hit the market.
Royal Enfield started a teaser campaign for this bike last weekend, and they went into the ranks of moto royalty to promote the bike. They signed none other than Guy Martin, who apparently found time to get away from twiddling big diesel trucks (that’s his day job, not racing, where he’s semi-retired) to hoon about on the Guerilla.
Here are two different views of the bike, the first from Siddhartha Lal, Royal Enfield’s managing director:

And here’s the second, from Govindarajan Balakrishnan, Royal Enfield’s CEO:

And no, that’s not Guy Martin in either photo. Here he is below, promising to help launch the new bike in Barcelona, Spain later this month.

Officially, the machine is set to debut on July 17. You can expect a reveal over social media, as always, and streaming channels (YouTube).
What to expect?
This looks like a scrambler based off the 450 Himalayan platform, similar to the 411 Scram, which was a riff on the first-gen Himalayan. That means you should get the same 40 horsepower and 19.5 pound-feet of torque, and probably a 19-17 wheelset and perhaps a slightly reduced price tag. Oh yes, and probably an introduction to Canada in 2025, officially.
We knew this would happen; almost as soon as the 450 Himalayan came out, officials said to expect more bikes based off that platform. This is probably just the first such machine. Stay tuned!
