Hey GTA motorcyclists (and anyone within a day’s drive, or so… ), today (January 5) is a big day. The Toronto Supershow starts today!
As Ed Sullivan might have said, this is a “really big show,” because first, it takes up a lot of physical space, and second, it’s the unofficial start to the 2024 Canadian motorcycle show season.
As always, the show runs at the International Centre, out by the Pearson airport. Hours today (Friday) are 11 AM-9 PM; Saturday, the hours are 10 AM-8 PM and we get hours of 10 AM-5 PM on Sunday. You can buy tickets at the door, with a $3 off coupon here. You can also get tickets online through Eventbrite.
The Supershow is often made fun of for being the “vampire teeth and beef jerky” show, and yeah, you see vendors hawking a lot of stuff like that. But there’s lots of other stuff to see this year, including bike displays, live music and this year, the Ives Brothers make their first appearance in Canada with a wooden Wall of Death! The show’s website says “The Brothers will be bringing their wooden Wall of Death taking bikes ranging from their AMF two-strokes, to an old Harley-Davidson Flathead, to a 1970 Honda Thumper.” There’s also freestyle MX stunt action, if that’s more to your liking.
There’s also expanded display space for cruiser and touring bike owners, buying and selling gear. Classic bike displays are a foundation of the show, and of course they are back along with lots of choppers and customs. The Canada Cup championship also runs over the weekend, with $50k in prizes for the finest customs from all over North America.
