Remember the Backroad Ball, the no-boys-allowed motorcycle rally on the east coast that built huge momentum in the pre-COVID years… and then was canceled in 2020-2022 because of C19?
WELP, this event is back on for 2023, and if you want to attend, you’d better sign up quickly: It’s going to be the last Backroad Ball, say the organizers, as they feel the event has accomplished their initial goal of creating connections between female riders in Atlantic Canada.
Registration for the event is open again; this year, the event runs July 7-9 in Salisbury, NB, at Riverglade MX Park. It’s going to be the same as before, with no male riders allowed.
The website says: “We welcome all female-identifying motorcyclists of Eastern Canada and beyond for a long-awaited weekend of rad music, winding roads, tales from the road, general silliness & badassery.
The Backroad Ball is not only a women’s only motorcycle adventure weekend & campout… It’s a celebration of female motorcyclists. The creators of The Backroad Ball have helped to create a sense of community amongst female motorcyclists in Eastern Canada as well as surrounding states & areas. Registration is open to all licensed female-identifying motorcyclists as well as moto-curious women regardless of motorcycle make or type, club affiliation, or age (19+).
Come sit around a bonfire and swap stories, try your hand at dirtbiking, enjoy local talent and entertainment, take in the beautiful New Brunswick scenery on group rides, make new friends, get tattooed & rock out to your heart’s content! We can’t wait to see you all again for #BRB5 in July 2023.”
