Friday the 13th runs in Port Dover tomorrow

Canada’s biggest motorcycle rally returns for 2022, whether the locals want it or not. Port Dover, Ontario, will once again host the Friday the 13th motorcycle meet-up, and it seems things are more-or-less back to business as usual, after interruption from COVID-19.

Not that the party entirely shut down the last couple of years; authorities restricted gatherings during the early days of the pandemic, but some bolder souls reportedly showed up in November of 2020 for the late fall event, despite no vendor permits being issued by the town. Last summer, there were calls to cancel the rally’s August running, but once again riders showed up in town, even with no vendors or camping.

Things might look a little different on this May’s Friday the 13th, but camping at the Kinsmen Club of Port Dover is back on the agenda, along with road closures inside city limits and, uh, Thong Man is also returning, as per the rally’s Facebook page.

Here’s what the rally said to riders who are going into Port Dover early: Coming to Dover today? Things look a little different and out of town parking and shuttles are not available. Downtown parking is VERY limited with many road closures. BUT…the Kinsmen Club of Port Dover is offering parking at the Kinsmen Park (95 Hamilton Plank Road) by donation. All funds raised will be donated back to local sporting and charitable organizations.

It’s just a short 10 minute walk to the downtown core, beach and local shops/restaurants. While you’re there, stop and grab your official Friday the 13th shirt from the group who’s been there from the start!
Enjoy the ride, have fun, and stay safe. We look forward to seeing you again in May, the real Friday the 13th way!

Remember that this is the only Friday the 13th rally this year, so if you miss tomorrow, you’ll have to wait until next summer.

  1. “Canada’s biggest motorcycle rally returns for 2022, whether the locals want it or not.” Oooohhh, menacing…
The locals love it, not sure where this tagline comes from. They love the stimulus to their community, the vendors, food and entertainment, on top of the bikes…
Glad that the community (the biking one and the municipality) get to celebrate this again, and with PERFECT weather.
