Get ready for your 2022 Ride for Dad

Get ready, motorcyclists! COVID-19 may have interrupted your normal moto-routine for the past couple of years, but the Ride for Dad organizers want you to know that their fundraising events, which run all across Canada, are back for 2022. As the weather gets warmer, and Fathers Day approaches, many of the rides will run in the next six weeks.

The Ride for Dad sees riders raise pledges for donations to prostate cancer research (through its subsidiary, the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation), and then (as the name implies) going on a group day ride to show solidarity and raise support. There hasn’t been much noise about this event the past few years, but as the Ride’s website says, “Prostate Cancer hasn’t stopped because of COVID and neither has the Ride For Dad.”

The Ride for Dad doesn’t schedule all its charity events across Canada on the same day. Events run from Newfoundland to British Columbia, with this year’s first events scheduled in late May and the last events scheduled for September. However, most of this year’s rides are scheduled for June. To find a Ride for Dad event that’s close to your location, visit this webpage here for a list of cities and dates.

There are an increasing number of charity-type rides in the moto-scene these days, but it is worth pointing out the Ride for Dad was founded in 2000, and has been raising money ever since, bringing in $37 million for cancer research to date. Even if you have other events or causes you’d like to support, this is still very much an event worth attending; find out more about the organization here.
