Kawasaki debuts 50th Anniversary models for Z650, Z650 RS, Z900, Z900 RS

It’s been five decades since Kawasaki introduced the big Z1, the 903 cc four-cylinder that truly put the “super” into the term “superbike.” And now, to celebrate that half-century of performance, Kawi is bringing out 50th-anniversary models of some of its most popular naked bikes.

Starting in February, Kawasaki has 50 of these machines available in Canada. The only difference between these bikes and a standard Z is the custom finish, but with only a few dozen circulating in-country, your machine is guaranteed to be unique. More details in Kawi’s presser below:

KAWASAKI CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF Z WITH NEW LIMITED EDITIONS

In 1972, Kawasaki Motors introduced a new era of performance motorcycles with the Z1, a model that set an important milestone for the company and for the industry.

With its impressive 903cc inline-four, the Kawasaki Z1 not only became the most powerful Japanese bike of its era, but also created a new standard for the brand’s future performance models.

Five decades later, the Z family remains a staple of the Kawasaki line up and is now more diversified than ever. 2022 marks the series’ 50th anniversary and Kawasaki is celebrating the special jubilee with an equally special limited-edition collection.
