Calgary, Vancouver motorcycle shows cancelled for 2022

This winter’s Calgary and Vancouver motorcycle shows are cancelled, says a press release from Power Sport Services (PSS).

PSS runs the “industry” motorcycle shows across Canada, as a subsidiary of the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC). Normally it runs a six-show circuit across Canada, with events in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver. For 2022, we were supposed to get a shortened schedule, with shows in Calgary and Vancouver in January and Toronto and Montreal in February.

Now, the western shows are canceled. PSS says supply chain upheaval and other pandemic-related factors combined with the recent severe weather issue in British Columbia have made it difficult for the majority of manufacturers to participate in the Vancouver and Calgary shows. So, they’re planning to run the Toronto and Montreal shows still, and then return to a full program in 2023. More details here.

  1. That’s too bad but not surprising. A lot of dealers don’t have stock and any new models have already been spoken for before they hit the floor. I was planning to go to the Vancouver show for the first time ever.
