MV Agusta has dropped another special-edition hypernaked on the market, the Brutale 1000 Nürburgring.
Obviously named as a tie-in with Germany’s Nürburgring track, this takes the Brutale 1000 RR chassis and engine, and hot-rods it even further. In standard RR form, the Brutale 1000 makes 208 horsepower. Thanks to a titanium exhaust from Arrow (in 4-into-2-into-1 configuration), and ECU tuned specifically for the new configuration, the Nürburgring edition makes 215 horsepower. Very snappy, very snappy indeed.
The new exhaust is also supposed to improve torque, along with new cam profiles. The engine is still Euro5-friendly, too.
The bike should come with MV Agusta’s ride-by-wire throttle system as standard, which means a selection of engine modes, adjustable traction control, leaning-sensitive ABS, wheelie control and plenty of other electronic gadgetry, all aimed at keeping you out of the weeds. DLC tappets come standard, as does an up/down quickshifter.
MV Agusta also put plenty of carbon-fibre bits on this bike. The wheels are from BST, with carbon-fibre construction and machined billet hubs to reduce weight and improve handling. Or, as MV Agusta’s press release puts it: “Inertia decreases, with very sensitive effects when accelerating, and braking. Additionally, changing direction becomes even faster, more responsive and enjoyable.” Arguably, riders will likely notice that more than the extra five horsepower.
The flyscreen, bodywork, exhaust shield and other bits also receive the carbon-fibre treatment, for a trick racing look and lower weight.
Coming to Canada?
MV Agusta isn’t doing much here these days, and only plans to build 150 of these bikes, so it would be surprising if we saw many, or any, of these bikes in our market. If they do come here, expect to pay between $55,000 and $60,000 CAD, as the sticker price in Europe is €39,900.
