The Husqvarna Norden 901 was the unexpected adventure bike star of the 2019 EICMA show (along with the Aprilia Tuareg 660). The Norden would have been Husqvarna’s first multi-cylinder bike in many years, the company’s first full-sized ADV machine. Mixing KTM’s already-popular 890-series engine with Husky’s smooth, Scandinavian styling, it offered a breath of fresh air in the world of adventure bikes.
And then … nothing. Or at least, not much. During the coronavirus pandemic, news on this machine pretty much dried up. No surprise, really—new bike development took a back seat for months, as moto manufacturers had to shut down offices and factories.
Now, we’ve got the YouTube teaser above, promising the machine is still coming. In fact, it looks like production is fairly far along. They wouldn’t be sharing so much information about the bike, if it wasn’t basically ready for production.
With that in mind, expect Husky to release this machine through an online media blitz sometime this fall. Maybe it’ll be at EICMA, maybe not—we wouldn’t bet on it.
