Remember, Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride runs next month

We’re still facing COVID-19 restrictions across Canada, but the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is still scheduled for next month, on May 23.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide fundraiser for men’s health initiatives; in 2021, the DGR is raising money for Movember. The basic idea is, motorcyclists (male or female) dress up in snappy outfits and go for a group ride, while soliticing donations for the cause.

Of course, COVID-19 meant changes for 2020, and the Ride ended up split up into individual rides, with individual motorcyclists going off on their own. After that, the DGR announced changes. Instead of the usual fall date, the riders would now have a spring event, which would suit motorcyclists in the northern hemisphere much better.

Alas, we still aren’t clear of the pandemic, so what the 2021 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will look like exactly, remains to be seen. As per the DGR website, “Due to the ever-changing level of restrictions in place in each city and country, the format of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride for 2021 will vary depending on the location in which each ride will take place.” There are some details here, but again, there will likely be regional differences.
