Look, it’s a Super Grom!

The Honda Grom is already a legendary bike, despite its diminutive size and small engine. But, Thai-based customization shop K-Speed is taking it a step further. Now, K-Speed has a bolt-on kit that turns your mini-naked bike into a mini-adventure bike, called the Super Grom.

For the most part, K-Speed’s 22-piece kit doesn’t mess with the Grom’s powertrain. You still have the same fuel-injected, air-cooled single. There’s a new exhaust system, but don’t count on that adding more power, or even much noise. We’re still only dealing with 125 cc, after all (although you can find big-bore kits for the Grom quite easily …).

K-Speed adds a new front fairing that looks vaguely like something off a Dakar bike, as well as a new seat and new bodywork panels that imply greatly improved fuel volume (but don’t actually change the gas tank capacity, obviously). There’s a new set of wider handlebars, with milled risers (a big benefit, for the Grom’s cramped cockpit) and bar-end protectors that will keep your levers from getting bashed up in a crash.

Throw in a new LED taillight, a new rear mudguard and some other odds and ends, and you’ve got a kit that costs around $1,250 CAD, depending on the day’s exchange rate. That price doesn’t include shipping from Thailand, though, if you can even persuade K-Speed to pack a kit and mail it here. Check out K-Speed’s site for more photos and details (be prepared to use Google Translate).
