This just in: Pro 6 is organizing its first-ever regional roadracing series, basing it out of Calabogie Motorsports Park, with help from Canadian Superbike organizers. It will be called Pro 6 GP, and will have four rounds, with Amateur and Pro races.
Otherwise, we don’t know much about the new series, only what’s in the press release below, but it’s the latest in a series of collaborations between Pro 6 and CSBK. As a Dunlop distributor, CSBK’s worked with Pro 6 for years, as that’s the spec tire for the series. Then, in the summer of 2020, Pro 6 managed CSBK’s race weekends at Calabogie and Mosport (sorry, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park). That was a bit tricky, but at the end of the season, we had enough racing in to crown a Pro Superbike champion, and Pro 6 and CSBK further cemented their working relationship.
Now, they’re cooperating on a new regional series out of Calabogie. Wait, what? Don’t we already have SOAR and the Shannonville-based Super Series in Ontario?
You could speculate as to the organizers’ intentions, but one possibility is Calabogie’s attraction to Quebecois racers. At this summer’s CSBK round, Calabogie proved very popular with racers from Quebec, and as that province has no regional series, maybe this would help provide a pipeline that developed them towards CSBK.
According to the update on CSBK’s website, the Pro 6 season at Calabogie will start with a race school May 22-23, with regional series races on June 5, July 10-11, July 24 and September 18. The July 10-11 race weekend will be tied to the second round of the national CSBK tour, as well.
It would be the first-ever regional series at Calabogie, which has usually catered to participant-oriented events, as it doesn’t have the sightlines of other tracks. But, CSBK’s run there successfully in the past, both with fans and without fans (in 2020). Racers enjoy the track, and they’re probably looking forward to more time there in 2021.

Pro 6 Cycle announces regional series of motorcycle races in Calabogie in 2021
Pro 6 Cycle will host the first-ever series of regional motorcycle races at the famous Calabogie Motorsports Park track, southwest of Ottawa, ON, in 2021. The four-round championship will include classes for two-wheeled competitors, co -sanctioned by the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK), organizer of the national track racing championship tour.

Either way, a selection of Pro 6 Free Practice will be available on the days surrounding race day, with details coming soon to the Pro 6 website.
Pro 6 offers a performance store located in downtown West Toronto, as well as free practice days and schools at various locations, primarily at Calabogie Motorsports Park. The official tire for the CSBK National Tour is Dunlop , and distribution and support for the popular Dunlop brand is provided exclusively by Pro 6 at each event. Dunlop competition tires are made just across the border in Buffalo, New York.
Pro 6 first offered a day of free practice at the newly built Calabogie track in 2007, and since that time Pro 6 has built a solid client base on one of the favorite circuits for motorcycle enthusiasts. sports.
The directors of Pro 6 are all former Pro riders: founder Sandy Noce, his wife and free practice events coordinator Sheena, and shop owner and business partner in Toronto, Joe Temperato. All three are familiar faces in races, free practice days and on the track across Canada.
Calabogie Motorsports Park offers a unique challenge, with 20 unique turns per lap, on a hilly 5.05 kilometer route. The paddock facilities are also first-rate, making the site a key destination for riders from across North America.
The new series will be named Pro 6 GP and will give Canadian competitors their very first chance to compete in a full championship at Calabogie. So far, only the Vintage Road Racing Association (VRRA) has offered an annual event for motorcycles, although the CSBK National Series has competed at Calabogie on several occasions, starting in May 2008.
In 2020, after several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSBK tour opened in Calabogie last July. The success event was made possible by Pro 6’s willingness to share their scheduled track time and work with the national championship organizers to put together a shortened national program. A similar multi-day event took place a month later at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ont, again hosted by Pro 6.
“We’ve been thinking about something like this for quite some time,” confirms Noce, founder of Pro 6 and former AMA Pro 250cc Grand Prix competitor, of the new racing initiative. “We believe the time has come to offer this series to our customers, and we are excited to grow our sport with the help of the staff at Calabogie and CSBK, taking full advantage of the beautiful circuit and facilities at Calabogie.
“Pro 6 GP has a solid staff lined up to run these races, and some great ideas for hosting a series of championships that should be well received by Canadian competitors. We can’t wait to start the very first season of regional competition at Calabogie in 2021. ”
