REV TV will show Shannonville’s Super Series races

Canadian race fans now have another option to watch our country’s on-track action. Starting with the last race of 2020, Shannonville’s Super Series will be broadcast on REV TV, reports Shannonville.com.

The Super Series runs at Shannonville Motorsport Park, in Shannonville, Ontario. The series has brackets for Pro and Amateur Superbike, Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight Sportsman, Lightweight Production, Lightweight Superbike, Pro/Am Superbike, and Sidecar competitors. You might not see all these classes running every weekend, mind you.

Not familiar with REV TV? It used to be called MAVTV Canada, with the name changing over this spring (more deets on the channel here, if you care about that sort of thing). It’s available on Bell, Shaw, Eastlink and other TV providers. When it was MAVTV, it showed Lucas Oil events, mostly; now, it’s shifting towards other content, like we see with the Super Series.

Is there a chance of other Canadian motorcycle racing making it to the channel? We haven’t seen any indication of that happening, but it would be great if that happened. Flat Track Canada is available online for viewing, but it would be cool to see it on TV. A TV deal to put CMDRA’s drag racing in front of television viewers would be pretty cool, too.

At this point, we’ve seen no official broadcast time/date for the first televised Super Series race, but it’s supposedly going to be this year’s season-closer, which runs September 19-20. Expect the televised races after that. See more details on the Super Series at the organization’s website.

  1. LOL! The final race of their last round had one bike in it. One. Four laps, one bike. Super Series is alienating racers and has already kicked out all their suppliers plus CSBK. Awesome to see they’ve leveraged their car agreements to get coverage for motorcycle racing, but not if what they end up showing is two bikes half a lap apart…
