This week, Harley-Davidson is running an online motorcycle show

Harley-Davidson is running a virtual custom bike show this week, all hosted on Instagram with no difficulties keeping social distancing.

H-D calls this new event The No Show, and it’s running June 15-21. It’s got custom bikes from all over the world, from the same builders who normally attend shows like Mama Tried, Congregation Vintage Bike & Car, and Born-Free—the same shows that are mostly cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It’s also got music acts lined up (The White Buffalo, Hollis Brown and the Kenneth Brian Band), all broadcast via the Harley-Davidson Instagram channel, and even a virtual swag booth, where you can buy T-shirts.

The T-shirts are $25 US, which sounds like a lot, but all the proceeds raised will go to the builders, so at least it’s all for a good cause.

Harley-Davidson will show off a new crop of custom bikes each day, until the show’s over, with builders sharing details about their individual bikes. So far, the show has featured choppers, a cafe racer, a boardtracker lookalike, and a scrambler, and it’s only Day 1. Expect more interesting stuff as the week goes on.

When the show’s over, there are three prizes up for grabs. There’s a Media Choice Award (presented and chosen by … the media, obviously), and the H-D Styling & Design Award (from Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson’s VP of Styling and Design). There’s also a Harley-Davidson Museum Award, chosen by the staff of Harley-Davidson’s museum and presented by Bill Davidson, museum VP and great-grandson of William A. Davidson, one of the company’s co-founders.
