Harley-Davidson is suspending production

Harley-Davidson has announced it is temporarily shutting down production at its US plants, until March 29. It’s also suspending its sponsored events for the coming weeks as well.

The move comes as an employee at Harley-Davidson’s Pilgrim Road powertrain facility tested positive for COVID-19. No doubt it was inevitable anyway, but with this development, Harley-Davidson now says most of its US-based production employees are temporarily laid off, with medical benefits. Harley-Davidson has said its Tomahawk Falls, Pilgrim Road and York factories are all affected.

Finally, Harley-Davidson also says all the events it sponsors are cancelled until mid-April. No solid word on what that means for Canada at this point, but no doubt we’ll see the effects once riding season is here in full force.
