CSBK visits Grand Bend this weekend

It’s time for the second round of the Canadian Superbike season, with the roadracers all set to visit Grand Bend this weekend.

It’s been an interesting season so far, with last year’s champions in Pro Superbike (Jordan Szoke) and Pro Sport Bike (Tomas Casas) both out of the lead, so far. Szoke’s third overall in Pro Superbike, with 38 points to Kenny Riedmann’s 44 and Ben Young’s 56. You can bet the cagey vet will be looking for a win this weekend, to get back on top.

Szoke will have a challenge, as Ben Young holds the fastest practice and race lap records at Grand Bend.

As for Casas, he earned a DNF last time ’round in Pro Sport Bike, so he’s only got the 4 points he earned in qualifying. Will Hornblower leads that series now with 52 points, so Casas has a lot of work ahead of him, if he wants to catch up.

Practice starts Friday, with racing beginning Saturday for the RACE Lightweight Production and CSBR Classic Superbike regionals. Otherwise, CSBK racers will be qualifying Saturday, with the racing beginning at 1 PM Sunday.
