Michael Leon will return to Canadian Superbike this season, repping Royal Distributing aboard a BMW S1000 RR.

Leon finished fifth overall last year, with 184 points. Like last year, he’s been working his pre-season game by getting in some mid-winter track time down south, testing the new Dunlop spec tires at Florida’s Jennings GP track.

With series champ Jordan Szoke moving to a Kawasaki next year, other competitors like Ben Young putting on more and more pressure all the time, Tomas Casas getting a litrebike ride with Yamaha and solid podium threats like Leon returning, could this summer’s Pro Superbike class be the most interesting in years? We wouldn’t be surprised! Given that Leon was just starting to get his new-for-2018 BMW figured out last year, we’d expect he’ll pressure the frontrunners more this summer.
