Here’s another look at Harley-Davidson’s Pan America, Custom 1250 and Streetfighter

Ten years ago, if you'd told us Harley-Davidson was building an adventure bike, we wouldn't have put much faith in the statement. Now, it's coming true.

The keeners at Motorcycle.com have unearthed more images of the upcoming Harley-Davidson Pan America, Custom 1250 and Streetfighter models.

Last summer, these bikes were part of a big announcement about a change-up in Harley-Davidson’s future; you can read more about that here, and see links to the individual bikes in the paragraph above. However, at that time, we didn’t see very much of the bikes. Information was limited.

Here are a few more views of the Pan America adventure bike.

This time around, we’ve got design drawings, filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office to protect Harley-Davidson’s copyright. But while these are filed in Europe, for an American bike, the drawings indicate a global plan for the bike, as you can see a sari guard in some drawings, which is pretty standard in the Indian market.

The Streetfighter 975

Otherwise, details are still extremely restricted—the Pan America adventure bike and Custom 1250 are likely both in the 1250 cc range, and the Streetfighter is likely in the 975 cc class, but pretty much any thing else is pure conjecture at this point.

The Custom 1250, which may be the last of these models to hit the market.

  1. Yuck. It’s uglier in line drawings than in the proto pictures.

I’m of the opinion that “new” isn’t a good enough reason to buy something, it has to be better than something else at some function or another.

I can’t see this thing being better than a 2004 Vstrom as a pavement focussed motorcycle dressed up as a pseudo dirt bike.

The one at the bottom looks like it has potential though.

  2. Sorry but that adventure model looks gawd awful. Looks like it was designed but an emerging country who saw plans of a bike in the 60s that was to depict the future of motorcycle design.

Are they available as a genuine accessory ? I don’t recall seeing them in the Big Book. 😉
