Sylvia’s Ride

Haija Wilson: “Sylvia Spice was the founding president of Durham Divas, and she passed away. We as a club needed something to help us heal from losing our friend, so we thought we would do a charity event in her honour. (This will be the 12th year for the ride.) She was a nurse, and she loved children, so proceeds go to Grandview Children’s Centre.
Lisa Nasso: “The ride starts in Oshawa, and is usually about 130km. It’s a poker run, so you actually make stops, you get a card, and you have a poker hand when you get back from the ride. We usually average about 100 riders, but we would like to get more, always!”
