This weekend, the Canadian motorcycle show season gets underway with events in Calgary and Toronto.
In Calgary, it’s the first of the Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council shows; the MMIC shows are the official face of the industry, which means almost all the manufacturers will be there. It runs Friday-Sunday at Stampede Park’s BMO Centre. Friday (after 5 PM) is ladies’ night, with a Kawasaki Versys-X 300 being given away to a female attendee. There are also two Kawasaki Z125 Pros being given away on Saturday. Along with the usual manufacturer displays, there are mini roadracing demos, a vintage motorcycle display, and the Yamaha Riding Academy also returns.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, the Supershow is running this weekend. Friday-Sunday at the International Centre. With 425,000 square feet of exhibit space, more than 500 exhibitors and more than 1,000 bikes on display, organizers claim this is North America’s “North America’s largest retail show for motorcycle enthusiasts.” Translation: This is the show to go to if you want to spend money. But while there are plenty of retailers selling motorcycle gear and and other paraphernalia, there are also bikes on display, used bike markets, and lots of other stuff to see.
