Ducati Multistrada 950 S is here

Last year, Ducati put its liquid-cooled 937 cc V-twin Testastretta engine into a Multistrada chassis, and the Ducati Multistrada 950 was the result: Now, we also have the Ducati Multistrada 950 S.

Like the standard bike, the Multistrada 950 S has the Testastretta engine, putting out 113 hp at 9,000 rpm in this machine, and making 70 lb-ft of torque at 7,750 rpm. Naturally, it’s Euro4-compliant.

However, the Multistrada 950 S has some key upgrades over the standard model, especially the suspension. The S version gets Ducati’s semi-active Skyhook suspension, which adjusts itself on the fly to deliver optimal suspension performance. The bike’s tricky electronic bits, including the traction control system, the ABS and other parts all work in conjunction with the electronics to make for a smooth ride. Of course, this electronically-adjustable system is also easy to configure for changing payloads, whether you’ve got a passenger or not, or luggage, or if you want to set the bike to perform optimally for touring, sport riding, or bumpy terrain.

Buyers can get tubeless spoked rims for the Multistrada 950 S, with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires that are better for offroading (rims are 19-17, a compromise between street performance and offroad capability). There’s a TFT dash on the S model, and lighting is LED all around. The S model also utilizes Ducati’s cornering headlight system for added safety.

We haven’t seen Canadian pricing or availability for either of the new 950 Multistrada models yet.
