Good news for Canadian roadracer Jonathan Finn—he’s been invited to the 2018 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup tryout camp.

This year’s camp is runs in Guadix, Spain, on Oct. 2-4. The riders invited are ages 12-16.

The riders selected will compete on European racing tracks aboard KTM RC 250 R 4-stroke race bikes. Previous Rookies Cup participants include Johann Zarco, Brad Binder and Joan Mir. Understandably, Finn is excited to get a chance to have a shot at participating in the program.

“I’m really excited to be one of the few riders that have been selected for this year’s selection event.” said Finn in his press release. “My main goals during the selection event are to improve my lap times each time I’m on the track, learn as much as I can and have fun. Since I was 8 years old I’ve wanted to be part of the Red Bull Rookies program. I know whatever the outcome I will have had a very memorable experience and I’ll take what’ve learned with me into the 2019 season.”

Currently, Finn is racing in Spain’s Moto3 championship, after bagging four Canadian national championships as well as regional championships out west.
