Roadracer Sean Henderson dies after Castrol Raceway crash

Roadracer Sean Henderson has died after crashing at an event at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway.

Henderson was racing in an open sportbike event on Sunday afternoon when he crashed on the first lap. He died from his injuries in hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and Edmonton’s Office of the Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy. It’s the first fatality at the racetrack in its 25-year history.

Henderson was 29 years old.

    Deaths during motorcycle races are pretty rare in Canada, fortunately.
