Racing Roundup: Tough luck at Laguna Seca, Navarra

There weren’t many Canadians in action last weekend. Braeden Ortt ended up with bad luck in MotoAmerica action at Laguna Seca, and Jonathan Finn didn’t see the results he wanted in Spain. Alex Dumas, however, did well in the RC390 event in the US.

In the Supersport 600 race (a support class for the World Superbike double-header), Ortt earned a DNF about halfway through the race. No points means he drops to eighth overall in the standings, 105 points back of leader JD Beach.

In his race, Dumas took the win, which leaves him with 125 points in the standings, good for first. Teammate Sean Ungvarsky is behind him in second at 99, and Ashton Yates is third with 98, so there’s not much spread there.

In Spain, Jonathan Finn finished in 10th at Circuito de Navarra in the European PreMoto3 championship.

This weekend, CSBK returns to St-Eustache, and some Canadians are headed down to race AMA flat track in Ohio as well.

  1. Hey, you clowns. Was Alex Dumas at Laguna? I thought I witnessed him winning the Liqui Moly Junior Cup race.

Things aren’t getting any better here in CMGland, are they?

    • @The Dark One: You’re entirely right. This is on me, I have been watching Alex closely but forgot to add him to the list of Canadian racers to follow. Me, and others, watch him keenly as the bikes in that class are the MotoAmerica equivalent of the bikes in my class (though on a much more professional level, obviously)… #facepalm
