Problem: Certain tinted windshields sold as accessories through BMW dealerships may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 205 – Glazing Materials. The windshields may contain extra tinting in certain areas, which would be contrary to the requirements of the standard and could potentially limit the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Correction: Dealers will replace the tinted windshield with one that meets the standard’s requirements.
