Seeing as it’s International Women’s Day, here’s an update on the Backroad Ball, Canada’s females-only motorcycle rally running June 15-17 in Penobsquis, NB.
We’ve talked about the Backroad Ball before on CMG, but in a nutshell, it’s a motorcycle rally for “all licensed female-identifying motorcyclists as well as moto-curious women regardless of motorcycle make or type, club affiliation, or age (19+).” Show up on a hog, a crotch rocket, or no bike at all, and you’re still welcome.
Registration has been open for a while and closes June 9. At this point, organizers say it’s about halfway to being sold out, so you might not want to wait. Registration costs between $60 and $70, depending on a few factors, and includes two nights of camping, all music (lineup yet to be determined), other entertainment (moto-games. karaoke, yoga, tarot card readings and other fun stuff) and some sort of commemorative material (sticker/patch/poster).
The Backroad Ball organizers are also looking to line up some volunteer help this year, and some of this work is also open for male volunteers. More info on that here. Otherwise, find more details on registration and other information at the Backroad Ball website.
