Two of John Britten’s motorcycles will be ridden at the Isle of Man’s Classic TT later this month. Here’s the story of the relationship between Britten, his bikes, their riders, and the TT.
Older motorcycle racing fans will have no need to be reminded of Britten and his bikes. For younger sorts, Wikipedia is a good place to start reading about the New Zealander who built race bikes himself that took on the best in the world, and beat them.
Now, Britten’s bikes are priceless. They won’t be raced at this year’s Classic TT, but Bruce Anstey and Stephen Brigg (also from New Zealand) will ride them in the Classic TT Retro Parade on August 28.
