Chris Fillmore wins at Pikes Peak

Former AMA roadracer Chris Fillmore had the best motorcycle time at last weekend’s Pikes Peak International Hillclimb.

Fillmore, who raced in AMA and MotoAmerica’s Pro Superbike category, won the race aboard a KTM 1290 SuperDuke R, and broke Carlin Dunne’s previous motorcycle lap record. Fillmore ran a 9:49.625 lap in the PPIHC’s Heavyweight class to take the win.

In other classes, Codie Vahsholtz won the Middleweight class aboard a Husqvarna supermoto (10:34.967). Davey Durelle won the Lightweight class on an Aprilia (10:35.354). Robert Barber won the Electric class on the Buckeye Current RW-3x with a 10:55.500 time (read more about that interesting university project here). Another interesting project, the Bottpower XR1R, won the Exhibition Powersport class, with Travis Newbold at the controls—read more about that here.
