If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you could take a ride to the BMW Performance Riding Centre at Barrie’s Horseshoe Resort and watch Ontario’s fifth annual BMW GS Challenge.
The event runs Friday-Sunday; today is for rider training, and tomorrow (Saturday) is a combination of field games and forest riding for the bikes. Sunday has more difficult riding, mechanical, and strength tests.
This year’s GS Challenge is one of the qualifying events for an Ontario rider to joining Team Canada for the 2018 World BMW GS Trophy event. Some of the best adventure bike riders in Canada will have to pass this weekend’s test, if they wish to carry on to the global competition in  2018. (the Canadian team will be finalized at the Fundy Adventure Rally this summer).
