Burns Racing back in CSBK amateur action this year

Aaron Burns will be piloting a new Yamaha R6 this year in the Canadian Superbike championship series.

Burns will be riding for Burns Racing in the Amateur Sportbike class; he’s also hoping to make some races in the Amateur Superbike class as well. See the team’s official press release below:

Burns Racing 2017 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship Pre-Season Release

The Burns Racing team is excited to announce their program and team support for the 2017 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Lead rider Aaron Burns will be contending a full season in the Shoei Premium Helmets Amateur Sportbike class with potential for showings in the Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike class.

Burns Racing will be fielding an entirely new platform for the season and would like to welcome 613 Motorsports aboard as a title sponsor alongside Champion Spark Plugs. Aaron will be riding the 613 Motorsports & Champion powered Yamaha R6 this season and looking to make a statement. When asked about the new bike, Aaron had some encouraging words “The new bike is going to be a whole new learning experience. I’m excited to utilize the power and handling charateristics of the R6, it should make things a little easier than last years woes and troubles on the older machine.”

Burns has been working hard in the off season to build a program for the coming season and has acquired more supporters leading into his second season from the likes of Richmond Motorsports to dial in the tuning on the new powerplant and Anytime Fitness Kemptville to get back to racing condition and improve overall fitness levels.

Returning sponsors to Burns Racing include Marriner Design, SPY Optics, SHAWNAIR, Vortex Racing, VnM SportGear, Dr. Nick Karaiskos as well as returning title sponsors from Champion Spark Plugs and newly title sponsor 613 Motorsports.

  1. It’s a Laugh/Cry situation to see this posted today. The engine in the R6 expired on Sunday at round 2 of the R.A.C.E. superseries. This leaves us with 3 days to get the bike ready for Round one of the CSBK series. If anyone in Ontario has a running 06-07 R6 engine please contact us ASAP.
