Indian continues winning streak in AMA flat track

Indian’s FTR750 flat tracker continues to dominate in this year’s AMA flat track season, taking the victory once again last weekend.

Indian has taken the top two podium spots in the past three races; last weekend at the Charlotte Half Mile, it was Bryan Smith (defending American Flat Track Grand National champ) in first and teammate Jared Mees in second. Mees had won the past two weeks. Third went to Sammy Halbert on a Harley-Davidson XR750R, proving that the MoCo’s old workhorse still has what it takes to challenge on dirt tracks.

Fourth place also went to an XR750R; the highest-ranked XG750R (Harley-Davidson’s new Street 750-based flat tracker) finished sixth.

  1. Give the Motor Company (read: Vance & Hines) some time, they’ll figure the XG750R out.
Either that or they’ll get the rules changed, like they did before in flat track or they have now in Pro-Stock drag racing…
