Guy Martin breaks Triumph speed record, aims for more

Guy Martin has managed to break one long-standing motorcycle speed record at Bonneville, but he’s still trying for the ultimate prize.

This week, Martin rode the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner to 441.3 km/h, breaking the previous record for world’s fastest Triumph motorcycle. The previous record, 395.4 km/h , had stood for 46 years. Martin’s speed also allowed him to break the unofficial 424.9 km/h speed record.

But Martin isn’t giving up; he still has his sights set on breaking the record for fastest motorcycle in the standing mile. He’s got a long way to go before hitting that 606.1 km/h record, but he’s taking it a day at a time at Bonneville, learning his way around the intricacies of racing at the salt flats. His team has set goals for him every day, and he’s meeting those; if he keeps it up, at end of week, he just may be the world’s new fastest man on two wheels.
