BMW’s F800 GS, F700 GS get minor updates for 2017

BMW has updated their middleweight adventure bike lineup for 2017, thanks to changing EU regulations.

The European Union’s new Euro4 emissions rules mean BMW’s F800 GS and F700 GS now have full ride-by-wire throttles, their exhaust systems are slightly altered, and the engines also receive some tuning changes.

The ride-by-wire throttle allows BMW to program “riding modes” into the bike. Stock, the 700 and 800 will now come with Rain and Road modes, with Enduro and Enduro Pro available as options, allowing riders to select their power delivery to suit their skill level and their riding surface.

The 700 and 800 also get new analogue gauges, and an engine warning light (required by Euro4, believe it or not …).
